Our Theory of Change

The Boma Theory of Change defines our process: the journey our customers go on with us.

Curiosity

Curiosity is our starting point.

Curiosity is what allows us to learn and grow. It is what allows us to challenge our preconceptions and overcome our limitations. It is what allows us to expand our perspective and contemplate disruption with excitement rather than fear.

At Boma, our first and forever job is to awaken curiosity in our community.

Conversation

Once we’ve awakened curiosity, it’s time to dig in.

We engage with our community and clients not only through expert presenters but also through dialogue, embracing questions like:

  • How has what I’ve heard shifted my perspective?

  • How does this apply to my organisation? To me as a leader?

  • What’s the practical application?

  • What assumptions have I been making that need to be revisited?

At Boma, we create the space for the kind of robust and courageous conversation that is all too rare and yet abundantly necessary to tackle the challenges we face.

Convictions

Through curiosity and conversation, we guide our customers to identify and articulate their convictions.

What are they wanting to accomplish and why? How are they measuring success? What are they willing to do to get there? What are they willing to let go of?

Ultimately, our aim is to get to the heart of the matter: What is truly important to them?

Courage

Convictions are nothing without the courage to act on them.

We equip our customers with the tools to build cultures of courage. To dream big, to lead, and to hold themselves to account against their purpose.

To foster brave, innovative teams aligned to a common vision.

To tackle tough conversations and rise from setbacks.

And to create thriving cultures fit for a future that looks nothing like the past.

Tihei mauri ora koutou mā. I wholeheartedly support Boma's efforts to help us be more forward-thinking and dynamic.”
